Aquino names new envoys, other officials

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has appointed individuals to different diplomatic posts and other government positions, deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said Saturday.

Valte said the President appointed Amable Aguiluz V as Special Envoy of the President to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Joselito Jimeno as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland, and Leslie Baja as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt.

Other appointees were Governor Denis Habawel as chairperson of Cordillera Administrative Regional Peace and Order Council; Regina Antequisa as member of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) Representing the Victims of Disasters and Calamities; and Ninian Sumadia as member of NAPC Representing the Youth and Students.

Victor Chiong was also designated as a member of the Board of Administrators of the National Electrification Administration.

The President also appointed Paisalin Tago, Jamel Dini, Abdulwahid Inju and Analiza Flores-Malayang as commissioners, (representing the Women Sector) of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. They will serve until March 7, 2018.

Rafael Iriarte, Ralph Pastor Salazar, Joseph Emnas, Fernando Zulueta, Fernando Barreiro were appointed by the President as members of the Board of Directors of the Philippine National Oil Company Exploration Corporation. (SDR/Sunnex)
