AT LEAST 23 people were hurt in a fire that hit a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling station in Pasig City early morning Wednesday.
Senior Inspector Anthony Arroyo of Pasig City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started around 1 a.m. at the Omni Gas Station, a gas refilling station located in Sandoval Avenue, Barangay San Miguel.
According to the refilling station's personnel, an LPG leak had caused two explosions that resulted in the fire.
BFP Pasig District Director Senior Superintendent Wilberto Kwan-Tiu claimed that the employees did not immediately report the leaked LPG tank and tried to solve it themselves.
Most of the injured victims suffered third-degree burns and most of them are employees of the refilling station, BFP said.
The fire, which lasted for at least two hours, had reached the fifth-alarm and damaged P20 million worth of properties. (Sunnex)
