Detained Parojinog siblings test negative for illegal drug use

Tuesday, August 15, 2017

THE drug test conducted on detained Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and her brother Reynaldo Jr. yielded negative results, police said Tuesday.

"Screening test conducted on the urine specimens of the arrested living persons gave negative result for the presence of methamphetamine and THC-metabolites, both dangerous drugs," said Superintendent Ramos Bergonia, chief operations division of Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory.

The Parojinog siblings have been detained at the custodial center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, since July 31 following the bloody raid on the family's compound in Ozamiz City.

Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife, and 14 others were killed during the raid on July 30.

Police have filed firearms and drugs charges against the Parojinog siblings following the recovery of a kilo of shabu and assorted firearms during the raid. (SunStar Philippines)
