TROPICAL Storm "Odette" has slightly intensified as it continues to traverse northern Cagayan, the state weather bureau said on Friday morning, October 13.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Odette was spotted at the vicinity of Allacapan, Cagayan.

Pagasa also said that Odette has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 100 (kph).

Areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) 2 are Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan group of islands, Apayao and Ilocos Norte.

While Isabela, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Bengue are placed under TCWS 1.

Pagasa said sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to the passage of Odette. (SunStar Philippines)
