OPERATIVES of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have arrested two foreigners convicted of sex crimes in their respective countries in the Visayas.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente on Friday, January 12, identified the fugitives as British national Robert Michael Eastwood, 67, and American Frank Carson Jr., 68.
According to Morente, Eastwood was arrested by members of the BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) on Wednesday in Bgy. Canuntog, Ormoc City while Carson was arrested in a subdivision in Cordova, Cebu on Thursday.
According to BI intelligence officer and FSU chief Bobby Raquepo, Eastwood has a standing warrant of arrest for sexual assault against a 13-year-old; indecent assault, sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl; armed robbery; and gun possession.
Carson, a sex convict meanwhile has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by a court in California due to his failure to register as a sex offender.
Both hid in the country to evade the respective warrants of arrest issued against them.
Both Eastwood and Carson are detained at the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending issuance by the BI board of commissioners of the order for their summary deportation. (SunStar Philippines)
