Mariel speaks on upcoming movie

WOWOWEE host Mariel Rodriguez shared her excitement in her upcoming movie, Cinco, which is scheduled to hit the silver screen late this year.

A horror project in the making, the film exploited the her potential in acting considering that her first break in moviemaking was the comedy flick "Agent X-44".

"First time kong gumawa ng horror movie. Kailangan talaga akong mag-focus kasi magugulatin akong tao," she said in an interview.

She will star on the fourth episode of the five-part film wherein her "Wowowee" co-host, Pokwang, will grace the last installment of the project.

"We are very excited to be part of it and we are already preparing for the shoots," she pointed out.

Because of their busy schedules, Pokwang will reportedly shoot twice a week while Mariel will do the job on Sundays.

Meanwhile, the Bad Boy of Philippine movie, Robin Padilla, ended his two-week stint in the noontime show "Wowowee" with emotional goodbye.

The entire staff prepared a special presentation for him, thanking the actor for accepting the challenge of hosting and bringing the show into record high ratings.

Robin, backed by his entire family during Friday's episode, thanked the hosts of the program for helping him out in a job "he never dreamed doing".

Kanto Boys – John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford and Vhong Navarro – will be replacing him as guest hosts of Wowowee for the next two weeks. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
