NCRPO to arrest other Alvin Flores gang members

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Roberto Rosales vowed Thursday to completely neutralize the remaining members of the Alvin Flores Robbery Group, saying the "heydays" of the criminal gang is over.

"The heydays of the group are over and we vow to arrest the remaining members in the soonest time possible," Rosales said in a press conference at the NCRPO headquarters in camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The NCRPO presented two members of the notorious robbery group arrested during the police follow-up operations after the killing of their leader, Alvin Flores, and three of his henchmen and the arrest of another by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) early this week in Cebu.

The two were Dennis Serquina, who was arrested in his residence in Umingan, Pangasinan; and Jose Warlito Rodriguito alias Wallet, who surrendered after feeling pressure due to the continuous follow up operations by the police.

Both Serquina and Rodriguito were brought for inquest at the Makati City Prosecutors' Office on November 3 for the crime of robbery with homicide, the NCRPO chief said.

Serquina was arrested around 11 a.m. of October 31 inside his house in Barangay Aloo, Umingan, Pangasinan.

Rodriguito, a resident of Barangay San Rafael, San Nicolas, Pangasinan meanwhile surrendered to the Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office 1, which then turned over the suspect to Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit (RPIOU-NCRPO).

The police director also said the suspects have admitted their participation in the Greenbelt 5 Mall Robbery in Makati City last October 18.

The suspect has also identified the remaining members of the group as Alvin Flores, the leader of the gang; Joseph Puno, the supposed right hand man of Flores; Juanio Zaldivar alias Jr; Rodrigo Carbonel alias Roger, Mata, Katawan, and Buboy; Merlinda Flores alias Merlin Mendoza, Chabeng, who is also the sister of Flores; Betong, the brother of the gang leader; a certain Boyet, who is the driver of the group; and Jayvee Cuenco.

Also, Rosales has showed footages of the Alabang and Greenbelt heist, pointing to how the group operates. The two suspects also identified the each of the members through the video.

"We will continue to put pressure to the remaining eight members and we will put an end to this Alvin Flores Group," Rosales said.

Rosales commended the combined operatives of Police Regional Office 1, led by its Regional Director Chief Supt. Ramon Gatan; the Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit (RPIOU); Pangasinan Provincial Police Office; Southern Police District (SPD); and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for the arrest of the two suspects.
