Brandon Powell and Jason Dixon led the hungry Patriots in the first quarter with seven and six points respectively.

Opening quarter wrapped up at 22-8 in favor of the Pinoy Squad.

Nonoy Baclao, who led his former team Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles to a back-to-back title win, chipped in consecutive two-point baskets when Q2 action started.

Bacolodnon Baclao was reported to have a hamstring injury before their game versus the Slingers.

Slingers' Filipino import Al Vergara meanwhile pushed the offense of his team despite the knee injury he got in their November 1 duel with Indonesia's Satria Muda BritAma.

First half ended with the Patriots' 13-point advantage, 36-23.

Slingers' Kyle Jeffers slammed two-pointers in the third quarter to cut the lead to seven points, but the Patriots quickly replied with their impressive defense to end it at 50-39.

Former University of the East Red Warrior team captain Elmer Espiritu made his presence felt in the court in the final quarter as he hooked two-pointers and made defensive blocks.

Val Acuna chipped in triples to end the game, 70-53.

The Slingers defeated the RP players in their first meeting at 74-69.

The Patriots will play their next game in Malaysia on November 14 where they will meet Kuala Lumpur Dragons. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
