MANILA -- Ateneo de Manila University added another three-peat romp in the 73rd University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) after dominating in the men’s judo at The Arena in San Juan City on Sunday.
The Blue Eagles amassed 57 points, way ahead of early frontrunner University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigers with 39 points, while La Salle's Green Archer placed third with 24 points.
The Katipunan-based squad copped three of four gold medals at stake along with three silvers and one bronze as opposed to UST’s three-gold, one-silver and two-bronze output.
In the women’s play, the Tigresses snapped the five-peat bid of league-leader University of the Philippines after collecting 42 points as against the Lady Maroons’s 35. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
