FAR Eastern University (FEU) overpowered Ateneo de Manila Sunday night to complete the semifinal cast of the 7th Shakey’s V-League second conference at the Arena in San Juan City.
After dropping the first set, the Lady Tamaraws recovered their poise in the next three frames to upend the Lady Eagles, 24-26, 26-24, 25-20, 25-19.

Four players from the Morayta-based hitters tallied double figures to secure the fourth and last berth in the Final Four.
The duo of guest players Rachel Anne Daquis and Michelle Carolino paced FEU’s attack with 22 and 21, points respectively.
Cherry May Vivas wound up 16 hits while Monique Tiangco chipped in 13, three coming ace services to repulse the Atenean spikers.
It was a bitter loss for the Lady Eagles, who lost all their quarterfinal engagements except for their convincing victory against National University last August 22.
Before the sudden-death showdown, FEU also subdued Ateneo, 25-21, 27-25, 11-25, and 25-18 to arrange the knockout match Sunday.
Ateneo still kept the game close after dropping the second set, but Thai import Surasawadee Boonyuen and Fille Cainglet failed to get the much-needed support from the rest of cast.
Boonyuen led all scorers for Ateneo with 21 points while Cainglet finished with 10 hits, including nine attacks.
San Sebastian College tied Adamson on top with 10-2 slates at the end of the quarters but the Lady Stags claimed the No. 1 spot in the Final Four.
Both schools gained the twice-to-beat bonus after finishing the quarters on a high note.
The Lady Stags will meet the Lady Tamaraws in the best-of-three semifinals, while Adamson tangles with Lyceum in the other contest starting Thursday. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
