MANILA -- The camp of Lakas-Kampi-CMD Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro has full confidence that the snowballing support of young voters would catapult the former defense secretary to the presidential post.
Teodoro’s spokesperson Mike Toledo said apart from the large bloc of vote the administration bet has sealed from Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, they will also pin high hopes on young voters “who have become the frontliners of Teodoro’s “green” volunteers.
“One of the real strength or pillars for the candidacy of Gibo is the youth. We know for a fact that 52 percent of the voters come from the youth,” Toledo said.
During Teodoro’s recent sortie in Cebu, thousands of Cebu-based volunteers and supporters of Teodoro have signed a manifesto of support entitled “The Cebu Declaration.”
About 128 delegates, vowed to continue their support for Teodoro’s presidential bid “to the very end.”
In Manila, an estimated 10,000 volunteers and supporters of Teodoro jammed with rock bands Rivermaya and Razorback at the Miting de Avance on Labor Day at the Folk Arts Theater grounds near Roxas Boulevard.
Among the volunteer groups supporting candidacy of Teodoro are Volunteers for Gibo of Andrew Masigan; Mahal Ko, Bayan Ko of Evelyn Kilayko; Green Team 2010; G-Squad; Animo Gibo; Palit-Galing Movement; Friends of Ramos for Teodoro; and GTBrigada Gibo. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
