MANILA -- The Department of Health (DOH) reported Wednesday four new cases of influenza A (H1N1) or swine flu virus, bringing the total cases to six.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque said two of the four new patients have closed contact with the Taiwanese mother and daughter who visited the country last May 17.
The two are 26-year-old female and 55-year-old male.
The two other cases -- a one-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, had history of travel to affected countries, particularly Hong Kong and the United States.
“All are currently being observed in health facilities. The 13-year-old male has fully recovered while the rest still have cough,” Duque said.
Duque also revealed that the DOH expects more “confirmed cases” in the coming weeks “due to its intensive contact tracing and heightened awareness among the public.” (MSN/Sunnex)
