Aquino extends term of non-career officials (9:30 a.m.)

MANILA -- Malacañang confirmed Friday that the term of office of Non-Career Executive Service Officers (Non-Ceso) was extended until October 31, this year.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said President Benigno Aquino III signed Memorandum Circular 2, which is set to be released Friday.

Those who will be affected are the casual and contractual employees of the government whose contracts are supposed to expire on Saturday, July 31.

Lacierda said it is now up to the department heads whether to keep or terminate their Non-Ceso officials. (Sunnex)
