Arroyo accompanied by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary Jesli Lapus ensure that prices of basic foods like egg, rice, meat, fruits and vegetables are stable despite El Nino. Mindanao was recently placed under state of calamity due to massive effect of dry spell causing power shortage in the island.

Also included in the agenda of the President in Mindanao is to create a nutrition council in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) which is part of the government’s campaign against hunger and poverty. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
