This is an opportunity for

This is an opportunity for the Philippine government to extend all-out support during this occasion to showcase meaningful attributes of the Pilipino, lest it be just a grand karaoke gathering, rapping, bamboo poles dancing, & the like, which have soused most presentations of this kind of festivity.

--there are nurses, doctors, engineers, architects, & other profession that must be heralded for their valuable contribution to Canada.
--cut down on the Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah mimickers...

The venue often referred to

The venue often referred to as the Toronto version of the legendary Time Square in the big apple is the Dundas Square in the core of the city along the main drag named Yonge Street, also the longest street in the world. The intersection is called Dundas Street.

Pilipinos in the GTA or greater Toronto area are referred to as visible minority, they are an integral part of the bustling humdrum of a city and other boroughs, from bus operators, gift shop clerks, coffee shop counter maids. One may even see a petite public bus driver and oh in national tv networks, Pinay anchors, on-site news broadcasters. It does not matter anymore if Pilipinos are mistaken as Vietnamese, Indons, and those coming from the Far East. Pinoys are here period! The countless OFWs as nannies, domestic helps, & exploited have their priceless contribution to Canada.

It would be great to see audio-visuals of tourist spots, same as what Jamaica & other Caribbean countries are doing...their boards of trades are government subsidized. Why not do this here in our own country? Let’s show them what we’ve got on those jumbo screens up above. Go! Go! Go! Mabuhay ang bayang Pilipinas!

"The largest annual Filipino

"The largest annual Filipino mainstream summer festival in Toronto." I have to disagree. This festival has no originality whatsoever. Shame on them!

I think you got the message

I think you got the message wrongly. It states "largest Filipino...annual festival..." and not largest annual festival as you may have understood, all right! So why "shame on them"? The group aims to show its different culture to others and wanst to have fun. Instead of throwing criticism, why not join in the fun which we would much appreciate. Otherwise...if there is nothing good you can say to others, then keep that mouth to yourself, full stop!

Let's not say "shame on

Let's not say "shame on them." We should unite not disagree. Or, are we are just thinking of our own personal interests that we do shows on the same dates? It's sad to think that each one wants to be on top. Who has the originality then?
