MANILA -- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer in Charge Commissioner Joel Tan-Torres ordered the lifting of temporary suspension of the Oplan Kandado Operations in all regions and district offices affected by the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng in a memorandum issued on November 6, 2009.

These affected Revenue Regions (RRs) include RR nos. 5- Valenzuela, 6-Manila, 7-Quezon City, 8- Makati City and 9-San Pablo City and all Revenue District Offices under them.

Tan-Torres ordered the resumption of the OK Program to generate additional revenues for the Bureau as it fights tax evasion and enhances voluntary compliance.

He said that since these areas are already in a more stable condition now, the lifting of the suspension takes effect immediately. (Angela Casauay/Sunnex)
