Boncodin's body arrives at DBM (11:30 a.m.)

MANILA -- The body of late former Budget secretary Emilia Boncodin was brought to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) office inside Malacañang compound.

From Sta. Maria Della Strada Church, where Boncodin's body was laid since she died on Monday, she was brought to DBM around 5 a.m. Friday to be laid overnight at her former office. Boncodin, 55, succumbed to cardiac arrest.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to pay her last respect to her former Cabinet secretary but the Palace was silent about the exact time and date.

Boncodin served as budget secretary from 1998 up to 2005 under various administrations.

Requiem masses will be held at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at DBM Building 1. A necrological service will follow after the 5 p.m. mass.

Boncodin’s body will be buried at Bonifacio Heritage Park in Taguig City. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
