THE Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) last week revealed cardiovascular diseases are still “top killers” in the Cordillera.
Dr. Maria Luisa Paran, chief of prevention and control unit of DOH-CHD revealed unhealthy lifestyle is the usual culprit causing untimely deaths in the region.
She said, “There are 2,254 cases of cardiovascular diseases noted from 2008.”
Paran advised people to avoid smoking, liquor, and illegal drugs if they still want to enjoy the Valentines. She likewise suggested dodging from fatty and salty diets to prevent hypertension. (Nievena Gandalera/Sunnex)
