Comelec: No COC on third day (7:20 p.m.)

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) Cebu office has recorded only two certificate of candidacy (COC) from Friday until Sunday.

Comelec officer Marchel Sarno said it is expected that only a few will file their COC on the first day of the filing. He said Monday will be a busy day for their office.

On its third day, Comelec accepted two COCs, one for Cebu city mayor and the other for Mandaue city councilor.

Meanwhile, a 73-year-old man filed his COC in Batangas saying he is far better than US President Barack Obama.

Manny Lopez, claiming to have economics degree in Netherlands and Germany, said he has what it takes to run against Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino and Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilberto Teodoro.

Lopez has no political background and recorded accomplishments yet he told the Comelec that he is not a nuisance candidate. (SUNNEX)
