MANILA -- Malacanang on Thursday criticizes the slow proceedings of the Maguindanao massacre case involving powerful clan of Ampatuans.
Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma said another postponement of the trial is an indication that justice system in the country is “very slow”.
He stressed that President Benigno Aquino III would also want swift justice to 57 victims of the gruesome carnage.
He noted that the President was upset upon knowing that, based on his own research, every trial in various judicial bodies lasts for an average of six years.
“This is what the President would want to change. This is what he wanted to improve in this administration,” he said. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
