'Domeng' to bring heavy rains (7:26 a.m.)

TROPICAL Depression Domeng will bring heavy rains to some parts of Luzon as it continues to move towards Northern Luzon.

As of 2:00 a.m. today, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Domeng was spotted at 460 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center.

Pagasa is also monitoring the movement of a Low Pressure Area, which was estimated at 670 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

No storm signal was raised as of this posting.

Earlier, the weather bureau said that about 13 to 15 tropical storms are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this year, with three coming from this month alone. (Sunnex)
