MANILA -- Business firms and establishments may be ordered for closure if they violate Republic Act No. 9231 or the "Act Providing for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labor and Affording Stronger Protection for the Working Child” more than three times.
The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) said that immediate closure will be applied to businesses whose violation resulted to death, insanity or serious physical injury of child worker; using the child for prostitution; or there is imminent danger to the life of the child.
But the government agency cleared that prior notice and hearings are required unless there's "is ground for immediate closure."
The Dole is closely monitoring and working to alleviate the worst forms of child labor in the country. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
