Marcos proposed that the ceasefire be imposed beginning December 1 until May 30, 2010.

He also said the government should discuss his proposal with armed insurgents such as the More Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP-NPA).

"If the MILF and the communist rebels won't agree, a unilateral ceasefire declaration from the government will do," Marcos said.(Angela Casauay)
