(UPDATED) -- A magnitude 4.8 earthquake (not magnitude 4.5 as earlier reported) rocked Surigao del Norte anew with Intensity 5 felt at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday.
In an updated post as of 9:15 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the epicenter of the quake in San Jose, Dinagat Island, not San Francisco town in Surigao del Norte, as earlier reported. The quake is tectonic in origin.
Phivolcs said this is an aftershock of the magnitude 6.7 quake last February 10.
There were no reported casualty or damage as of 8:59 p.m.
