SARANGANI -- Filipino boxing champ and Congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao will take oath of office today, Monday, at this province's Capitol.
Television reports said the oath taking will be done Monday morning. The boxing icon is expected to deliver his speech. He will wear a barong Tagalog designed by JC Buendia.
Pacquiao on Sunday reportedly met with his allies at his mansion and reminded him of their goal - to serve the people.
He also announced that he will transfer to President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino's Liberal Party from the Nacionalista Party of defeated presidential candidate Manny Villar.
He said he already talked to Villar and he asked permission from him. He added that he wants to transfer to Liberal Party as he wants to ensure the entry of more projects to this province.
"Sinusuportahan ko ang administrasyon dahil maganda naman ang hangarin nya at para din naman sa mga kababayan natin," he said in an interview. (Sunnex)
