President tours infra projects with media (1:31 p.m.)

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

LAGUNA -- After visiting students in Calamba, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, in a very rare occasion, toured the media in several infrastructure projects she established in her term.

Onboard a rented deluxe bus, Arroyo with some 20 mediamen, first traversed South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and stopped at end of the ongoing construction project of Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway.

She inspected the site and stayed there for few minutes.

While traveling, an SLEX official briefed the President with the developments seen along SLEX going to C-5 road.

Arroyo then inspected the construction work on the P500 million underpass in Barangay Talipapa in Quezon City.

The underpass is still part of the Urban Luzon Beltway project of Arroyo. It links the C-5 road on Mindanao Avenue in Novaliches, Quezon City to the North Luzon Expressway in Valenzuela City.

A short briefing was conducted in the underpass project before Arroyo proceeded to the Cabinet meeting in a nearby barangay hall in Novaliches.

The closed-door Cabinet meeting is ongoing. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
