MAJORITY of the senators signed a resolution expressing the house's move to dismiss the ethics complaint againts Sen. Manny Villar, Monday.
There are 12 out of the 23 members of the senate who signed the resolution, including Villar himself.
Villar's probable vice president bet Loren Legarda, as well as Aquilino Pimentel, Lito Lapid, Alan Peter Cayetano, Joker Arroyo, Mirriam Defensor-Santiago, Ramon Revilla Jr., Pia Cayetano, Gregorio Honasan III, Jinggoy Estrada, and Francis Pangilinan have signed the resolution.
Included in the resolution were testimonies released from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Senate Budget Office (SBO).
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano said in a television interview that the resolution aims to clear Villar's alleged illegal involvement in the C-5 road extension project.
"It has been made clear that there was no double insertion, no realignment and no overpricing involved in the said project," Cayetano said.
In response to the signed resolution Senator Jamby Madrigal said she will not subscribe to 'political prostitution when the country's interest is at stake'.
Madrigal said that her fight against corruption is non-negotiable.
"I congratulate Mr. Villar for his fantastic lobbying in turning someone like Senator Legarda, who was rabidly againts him into his girl Friday." Madrigal said in a television interview. (Sunnex)
