MANILA -- After five years of giving doze of laughter to their viewing public, noontime show "Wowowee" bids goodbye today.
“Wowowee” first aired on February 5, 2005 and was set as the comeback of its main man Willie Revillame.
Willie went on-leave after his remarks against radio host Jobert Sucaldito last May. He submitted his letter of resignation to ABS-CBN executives, which the latter dismissed and still treat him as one of the network's talent.
When the Kapamilya channel finally announced that they will be replacing "Wowowee" on-air, they also confirmed that a new show is being worked out for Willie.
“Wowowee” drew many viewers and studio participants with their big prizes on their hit segments like Cash Motto, Hep Hep Hooray, Willie of Fortune, Cash Bukas and more.
Being broadcasted in the United States, Middle East and Europe, the show was able to receive favorable reviews from The Filipino Channel (TFC) subscribers.
"Wowowee" has gone to its world tour and visited cities like San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Reno, Honolulu, San Diego, Houston and New York in United States.
The show also went to Sydney, Australia, Guam, Winniped in Canada and Dubai.
During its five years on-air, "Wowowee" also tapped the industry's top hosts like Iya Villania, Roxanne Guinoo, Kat Alano, and Janelle Jamer.
For its last episode, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, RR Enriquez and Pokwang will end "Wowowee" still on a high note. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
