800 Bacolor kids circumcised

BACOLOR -- A total of 800 kids staying at the Bulaon Resettlement Center in the City of San Fernando, Madapdap Resettlement Center in Mabalacat, and the Model Community here “have now become young men,” courtesy of the free "Operation Tuli" last May 9, 16, and 23.

The "libreng tuli" (free circumcision) aims to provide free circumcision to Bacolor kids.

The activity is a joint project of Ron-Ron Dungca, son of Bacolor Mayor Romeo Dungca Jr., together with the Alpha Phi Omega-Dr. Frank Reed Horton Allied Health Society and Rural Health Unit here.

Ron-Ron personally thanked officers of the Alpha Phi Omega-DFRHAHS organizers President Rovanel Cato, Vice President for Internal Affairs Dr. Noel Lacsamana, VP for External Affairs Dr. Edwin Brian Tan, Secretary Richard Serrano, Treasurer Jules Manalastas, Auditor Evelyn de Guzman, Public Relations Officer Dr. Rose dela Cruz, Sergeant at Arms Reymar Gonzales and Marty Musni for their dedication and commitment in assisting the Bacoloreño youth.

He said the "Libreng Tuli" was very timely, as the summer vacation will be over soon, adding that young boys who benefited from the free operation are mostly students of Bulaon Elementary School, Bacolor Elementary School (Madapdap) and boys coming from the 21 barangays here.

The younger Dungca said Operation Tuli was very successful, adding that some 300 young boys availed of the free minor operation at the Bacolor Model Community in this town.

Earlier, 500 kids from Bulaon and Madapdap resettlement sites were circumcised.

The mayor’s son also cited the valuable support of APO-PAA president Nestor Maghuyop, Dr. Janet Trinidad as well as barangay health workers and officials who contributed in the success of the project.

Ron-Ron, who is very active in sports development, medical and dental missions and other civic endeavors has been very visible in the 21 barangays.

Everyone involved in this

Everyone involved in this mass circumcision should be jailed, it is nothing short of genital mutilation. To describe this "event" as something civic-minded or noble is simply ridiculous. Having your penis scarred and deformed is not part of "becoming a man." Again, money is available for this nonsense yet money for daily sustenance and other necessities of daily life is non-existent. Let's pray for the poor Bacolor victims of "libreng tuli."
