BACOLOR -- Former Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades (DHVCAT) president Enrique Baking is set to be installed as the first university president of the newly converted Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU).
Third district Congressman Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales Jr., author of Republic Act 9832 (which converted DHVCAT into DHVTSU), said the installation of Baking presents the final step in the full operation of the state university.

It will be held in grand ceremonies on Friday, March 26, at the DHVTSU Gymnasium here.
“DHVTSU can now start on reaping the fruits of being a state university. We hope that Mr. Baking can lead DHVTSU into better accomplishments in the coming years,” Gonzales said.
Baking will be the first university president of DHVTSU after the investiture rights to be led by Commission on Higher Education (Ched) Commissioner Nona Ricafort, Gonzales and local political officials of the province.
The keynote address will be delivered by Senator Manny Villar.
In a phone interview, Baking said that he is honored with the development. He said he will work closely with DHVTSU’s board of directors in further charting the future of the state university.
Baking said that his first order of business after being installed would be the review of the program offerings of the university and setting up of long-term plans for the offering of more course programs fit for the needs of the time.
“There is still much to be done in terms of development. We are ready to take the challenge of living up to our schools new status as state university,” Baking said. (IOF)
