Barangay health workers back Legarda

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Pampanga Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) have vowed to support the vice presidential bid of Senator Loren Legarda as they assured her to deliver substantial votes in the coming May elections.

According to Maria Lelila Mangulabnan, president of the BHWs, Legarda is competent and smart enough to discharge the duties and responsibilities of a vice-president as her track records and experiences speak in her behalf.

Mangulabnan said that among the vice presidential candidates, only Legarda has shown a deeper concern to the needs of their group. “Yung iba kasi buti lang sa hindi ka nila kausapin, pero si madam senator may plano para amin,” she said.

With this, Legarda has assured the BHWs that she will provide standard allowances should she get elected as vice president. She also promised professional trainings which are usually given to nurses, midwives and doctors aside from other benefits that may be given to them.

Legarda also said that it is about time to give due recognition to the "unselfish sacrifices" of the said health workers all over the country.
