'Beauty Parlor' to take city by storm

THERE is no denying that Teatru Ima at Arti (MaArti)'s production of Beauty Parlor the Musicale will surely go a long way from its maiden performance at the Holy Angel University Theater.
Now it is ready to take a wider stage, and a much stratified audience as Beauty Parlor the Musicale goes on show at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando.

Rina Alarcon, president of MaArti said the second stage presentation will likely see to more spectators coming from different sectors, as MaArti tries to reach out to all walks of life regardless of cultural orientation. Beauty Parlor the Musicale itself draws inspiration from ordinary life of extra ordinary women.
Beauty Parlor revolves around the female staff and clientele of a beauty parlor whose lives intersect as they tangle with life's knot and snarls. Through humor, drama, dance and music, the colorful cast of headstrong stylists and opinionated customers deliver an entertaining look in life, love, religion and other personal and social issues. The play culminated with the crowning of the winner of the Mutya Ning Maimpis.
"MaArti is an all women group and we try to communicate the fact that women in their prime can excel on the theater stage and even advocate for women empowerment through the arts. MaArti is aiming towards this objective and our latest musicale is an embodiment of our advocacies," Alarcon said.
The stage presentation also presents comic realities in life presented in the unique pinch of the Kapampangan language. The stage is set and surely, Beauty Parlor the Musicale will take Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center by storm this coming Friday night, June 4.
