The patients used to be drug dependents rescued by the ACADAC.
David, in his message, said drug and alcohol dependants are not bad people but rather “reasonably ill people.”
“If they’ll be given right treatment, support and spirituality they will become a better and responsible person,” he said.
Sison, for his part, said the City Government recognizes the needs of drug and alcohol dependants and has made significant moves to provide social support for them. “This is also coupled by local government’s crackdown on illegal drugs and the formation of a stronger Acadac.”
Acadac aims to formulate a comprehensive action plan in addressing the problem of dangerous drug abuse and illegal drug trade within the city and held consultation meetings to various NGOs, people’s organization and other sectors for the effective implementation of the Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse program.
Rafael Del Rosario, Acadac program head, said the council “ensures the active participation of every government agencies and departments, likewise we advocating the passage of anti-dangerous drug abuse and rehabilitation ordinances.”
