Ford Philippines first-half sales rise 59%
Thursday, August 25, 2011
FORD Group Philippines (FGP) reported that the first-half sales of Ford brand vehicles have risen an impressive 59 percent year-over-year to 4,815 units (all sales figures are based on retail sales), far-outpacing sales of the overall industry.
Ford’s strong January-June period was led by the continued momentum of the All-New Ford Fiesta, which has firmly established itself as one of the leaders in the Philippines’ small-car segment.

The globally-popular Fiesta delivered an exceptional first-half performance with total sales of 1,750 units, making it FGP’s best-selling nameplate this year. The Fiesta ended the first-half with June sales of 344 units, its best monthly performance since being launched in the market last year.
“Our team has worked very hard on continuing the successful implementation of our One Ford plan, and it’s helped deliver a first-half performance that far-outpaced the overall industry,” FGP President Randy Krieger said.
“The big story behind our success this year is the continued momentum of the Fiesta, but is also being supported by some terrific results from our other Ford nameplates,” Krieger added.
Ford’s first-half performance was also supported by continued demand for the popular Ford Everest and Ford Ranger, with sales of Everest increasing 33 percent from a year ago to 1,412 units, while Ranger sales jumped 34 percent to 638 units.
Like the Fiesta, the Ford Focus turned in its best monthly performance in June, helping drive its first-half sales of 292 units.
“We’re confident of our momentum carrying into second half of the year and expect overall demand for our world-class Ford vehicles will strengthen,” said Krieger.
