MABALACAT CITY -- To create job opportunities at the Mabalacat TechnoCenter (TC), the Technology Resource Center (TRC) launched Friday a business matching between the Technology Business Incubators and the TechnoCenter.
TRC Director General Dennis L. Cunanan said the TBI-TechnoCenter Business Matching 2012 is a business match-making opportunity designed to expedite adaption of innovative technologies by businesses within the technology center.
"With increased productivity, the business locators would gain a boost in competitiveness and thereby bolster its capacity for job creation," Cunanan said.
The Open-Technology Business Incubator (Open-TBI) in the UP Diliman is also operated by TRC. It houses 15 techno-business startups comprising of R&D companies, IT consulting firms, software developers, online business support services, web and network design, as well as those engaged in various digital services.
With such a powerhouse of technology, Cunanan noted, there is simply no telling how much impact it can create when harnessed for the improvement of productivity in a TechnoCenter.
Initially exclusive between the UP Diliman-based technopreneurs and the business owners inside the Mabalacat TC, Cunanan said the TRC is planning to implement an expanded version of the program for the benefit of all its TCs in Central Luzon.
The TRC operates at least eight TCs in the Central Luzon. There are four TechnoCenters in Pampanga alone.
Aside from the one in Mabalacat, there's also one in Barangay Palmayo, Floridablanca; another in Barangay Pandacaqui, Mexico and Barangay Pio, in Porac. There two TCs in Tarlac province, namely the O'Donnel TechnoCenter in Capas, and the one in Barangay Alfonso in Concepcion. Then to the west, there's the one in Culis, Hermosa, Bataan and the one in Barangay Taugtog in Botolan, Zambales.
