MEXICO -- Now, gastronomes heading north will not have to stray from their destination to get a sampling of real Kapampangan food, cooked from old fashioned home recipes.
Fiesta Keni, a restaurant run by friends Abby Tuazon, Gerlyn Cervantes and Armie Barraceros, just opened over the weekend at the Petron Lakeshore along Kilometer 71 of the North Luzon Expressway, offering motorists an array of genuine Kapampangan food at the last pit-stop before heading further north.
“At just P199 per head, foodies could get the real taste of Kapampangan food. It’s eat all you can and feast on more than ten dishes daily. It’s an all-year feast here at Fiesta Keni,” the trio shared to Sun.Star Pampanga.
The recipes are all hand-me-downs from their moms, brought to the table freshly cooked daily.
“The dishes are all home cooked like the asado, kilawin, adobo and even our version of ‘buro’ to go with veggies and fried fish. We also serve Kapampangan breakfast and snacks at really affordable prices,” they added.
And to give visitors and customers an added glimpse of Pampanga, the walls of Fiesta Keni are plastered with lots of photographs and information on Kapampangan festivals like Candaba’s Ibon-Ebon, San Fernando’s Tugak Festival and Maleldo rites, Apalit’s Apung Iru, the Giant Lantern Festival and Sinukwan among others, which are also complemented by videos about Pampanga art and culture.
“We’d like to share with everyone all the good stuff about Pampanga in a spot that blends food with culture. And Fiesta Keni just is the place to be along this stretch,” the trio quipped.
