EMB lauds Capitol for brand new dump trucks

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Fifteen towns in Pampanga received new dump trucks from the Provincial Government in line with its solid waste management program.

Governor Lilia Pineda turned over the trucks to local officials of the recipient towns that include Magalang, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Porac, Sasmuan, Sta Rita, Arayat, Mexico, Sta. Ana, Apalit, Candaba, San Luis, Minalin and Sto. Tomas.

Environment Management Bureau (EMB) Central Luzon Director Lormelyn Claudio lauded the Provincial Government for the move.

She said Pampanga is the only province in Central Luzon which provides dump trucks to local government units (LGUs).

The initial distribution was held Monday, April 17, in front of the provincial Capitol led by Pineda, Vice-Governor Dennis Delta Pineda and Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer Arthur Punsalan.

Before the turnover, the mayors of the recipient towns and cities led by Pampanga Mayor’s League President Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab and the governor signed a memorandum of agreement for the maintenance of the heavy vehicles.

Pineda reminded the mayors to take good care and properly maintain the dump trucks so the use could be maximized for the proper handling and hauling of collected garbage in the respective towns and cities.

She said the distribution was realized through the request of the Pampanga Mayors League and upon the approval of the Provincial Board.

With proper solid waste management, the governor said, they could also help and contribute to the health program of the province. (PR)
