SHOPOHOLICS, there’s a new lifestyle brand in town and it may change your life forever: Miniso, a Japanese concept store, opened its biggest outlet in SM City Pampanga last Friday.
Get your wallets ready because Miniso is a budgeter’s paradise. With its success in Japan, it has now built an extensive distribution network in over 50 countries and regions, and more than 2000 retail store in just three years.
It has branched out as far as Australia, Mongolia, UAE, Nepal, Lao, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, China, and the Philippines. Its first branch in the country opened in Robinsons Place Manila last June 2016.
To mark its first anniversary, Miniso Philippines opened its 24th branch in an extravagant and traditional Japanese way. Present in the ceremonial event were executives, members of the local government, and celebrities Julie Ann San Jose and Benjamin Alves.
During the opening, Assistant Vice President for Operations Carlos Sy, noted that the store carries a wide array of affordable yet high quality products ranging from home accessories, beauty products, food and drink, stationery gift items, office and school supplies, electronics, and many more.
“Miniso commodities are in line with fashion and leisure. We have so many products every member of the family, or any age and gender can choose from. Simply budget-friendly products but with undeniable Japanese durability that Miniso is known for,” he said.
Sy furthered that to keep up with the latest and trendiest selection, Miniso maintains fast replenishment of items—making sure that new products and designs are introduced on a weekly basis.
Moreover, he disclosed that Miniso Philippines headed by its president Michael Hong, is set to open more outlets in the country within the year. He said that the company is targeting to open at least one branch every week to cater to the growing needs of Filipino consumers.
For his part, SM City Pampanga mall manager Aaron Montenegro welcomed the entry of the well-celebrated Japanese brand in the country’s longest mall.
“It’s very exhilarating and challenging on our part because it is the biggest branch nationwide. But I’m quite sure and confident that Kapampangans will be able deliver the market that they expect. With Miniso as an additional tenant, SM City Pampanga offers better shopping experience and variety for our shoppers coming from in and out of the province,” he shared.
Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Miniso was jointly founded by Miyake Jyunya, the chief designer, and Ye Guofu, a young Chinese entrepreneur. It stands by on its three core values: Quality, creative, and low price.
