CLARK FREEPORT - The Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila) hit Wednesday what it described as poor garbage collection system of the Metro Clark Waste Management Group (MCWM).
The said ineffective system had led to a barrage of complaints from business locators in the area.

In an interview, Cila executive director Justice Dalida said two months have already passed after the meeting between Cila and MCWM was held but the waste collection firm "has done nothing to resolve the complaints" of the locators.
Among the complaints raised by the locators are the inefficient billing system of MCWM affecting the proper accounting of payments made by the locators and "irregular and late" schedule of collection of waste resulting to foul odor and breeding of pests that could be the source of illnesses and diseases.
"We suggested that MCWM will give a regular schedule of collection per area zone to inform locators when to expect the garbage truck. We also urged them to lower the collection rates even for a short period of time, however minimal, may help the locators to lower their operating cost. Cila based this argument on the increased number of locators through the years - as per economies of scale, this may now be possible," Dalida said.
Dalida said the MCWM has promised to look into its present billing system for assessment and review for improvements.
Both parties agreed to present data and other information and finally to resolve on pending issues.
The MCWM also agreed to present their actions taken addressing the locators' complaints.
"However, MCWM has not given us any feedback and they have remained silent on the matter," Dalida said, adding that an effective garbage collection system is essential in the further development of businesses here.
Sun.Star tried to get the comments of MCWM president Armando Garcia on the issue but calls requesting for interview since the other day were not returned.
