CLTV36 programs go international

Sunday, September 5, 2010

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Three popular and well-watched programs of the Laus Group of Companies-owned regional television CLTV36's will now be seen in over 50 states in the US on RPN-USA starting Monday.

"Trip, Treat at Gimik," the hippest guide to events and places in Central Luzon; in-depth discussion show "So to Speak; and women-powered series "Wagi," hosted by Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas Golden Dove awardee Sonia Soto for Best Public Affairs Host, are three of the top-rated CLTV shows that can now be watched by the international audience.

The breakthrough was made possible through a memorandum of agreement signed recently between Glocal Media Networks Inc., represented by its chief operations officer Raimond Agraviador and Soto, vice-president and general manager of CLTV36.

"Our partnership with Glocal is the fulfillment of our commitment to reach out to Filipinos around the world who want to keep in touch with their roots even as they spread their wings seeking for greener pastures in foreign lands, so to speak. CLTV36 believes in finding ways to quench our 'karehiyons' longing for news and information from home. Through Glocal, we will make Filipinos especially our 'karehiyon' always abreast of local public affairs and events," said Soto.

Glocal owns and operates Filipino-language television networks operating in the United States, Canada and Australia. It covers a large overseas Filipino audience through Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) or DBS television of Dish Network, the leading ethnic-language programming provider with over 12 million subscribers in America.
