Dong, Oca asked to help repair village road

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Barangay Sto. Niño residents have asked the help of Third District Representative Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales Jr. and Mayor Oscar "Oca" Rodriguez for village road repair.

About 50 residents asked help in concreting the perennially flooded dirt road in San Fernando Subdivision in the said village.

In the letters submitted to the respective offices of Gonzales and Rodriguez Wednesday, the residents said the 100-meter dirt road along Mars Street in the subdivision becomes a serious problem to them, especially during rainy and typhoon seasons.

The 50 residents signed the letters to the two officials.

"We are respectfully requesting your intercession on concreting of our road," the residents said.

Armando Yabut, a retired government employee, said the 100-meter portion of the road along Mars Street "was left untouched," though other sections of the road in the subdivision were already concreted by the local government.

He said the subdivision is not a private property, as it was turned over to the local government here during the administration of the late Mayor Virgilio "Baby" Sanchez.

Copies of the letters given to Sun.Star Pampanga include the signatures of parents, teachers and students of a parochial school in the area who are also affected by the road's condition. (JAM)
