SUMMER has only just begun and with it is the craving for the beach, sand and that exhilarating adventure to some remote island resort.
Boracay nowadays is never a practical and economical place to visit, so if you live in Central Luzon, Bolinao offers the same scenery and more; the outdoor attractions even the adventure at a more reasonable price.
In these times financial difficulty, one tends to be more practical. That is why we found ourselves on a late night trip to Bolinao with the company of long lost friends. The trip to Bolinao is almost a five hour ride from Clark Freeport on a private vehicle.
Bolinao is a remote fishing enclave near the Lingayen golf. One would have to crisscross along main towns of Pangasinan which is at the northern most tip of the province. Regular bus rides may be taken at the Dau Bus Terminal in Mabalacat for commuters who would like to explore Bolinao.
Our stay, as usual is unplanned and uncharted, was supposed to include at least an adventure at the beach and exploring the hinter barangays of the town. We had earlier reservations at Treasures of Bolinao Resort. It's a resort fronting the South China Sea, at the northern part of the Philippines, West to it is the Lingayen gulf. Unlike going to Boracay, a Bolinao beach experience is hustle free and only involves minor navigating on well-paved roads if travelling on land.
We reached Treasures of Bolinao Resort half-awake and still dizzy of the food we ate along several stops on the road. As one Kapampangan to another, try discovering local delicacies to spice-up your travel experience. The experience on travelling should be coupled with a gastronomic craving.
Treasures of Bolinao is heaven on earth. Its complex area rises from the beachhead and sprawls into a multi-story building that serves as its function and hotel area. Equipped with all modern amenities like presidential suites and cottages as well as food accommodations, a stay in this paradise of a resort is enough to make your heart beat in delight.
The beach head also includes courts for beach volleyball and open cottages facing the sea. This is accented white sand that extends across other beach resorts. This seemingly unlivable description seemed pass-by our attention as we were more concerned of taking a hurried nap. It was 3:34 in the morning. (to be continued...)
