PAMPANGA Premier Cars BMW (PPC) supported the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3)’s newest anti-criminality campaign dubbed “Ride against Crime” which was launched recently.
PPC BMW Aftersales Manager Albert Co Beng and BMW Motorrad Sales Executive Antonio Dungca graced the campaign launch and personally handed over a BMW token to PRO-3 Acting Director Chief Superintendent Rudy G. Lacadin.
Some 2,000 motorcycle enthusiasts, mostly members of various riders organizations in Central Luzon and Metro Manila, joined the initial ride against crime, considered the biggest gathering of motor bikers in one setting at Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando,Pampanga.
Lacadin said “Ride against Crime” is part of the anti-crime awareness program of PRO-3, whose kick-off coincided with the launching of "Krimen I-text mo, Aksyonan Ko", a strategy aimed at neutralizing criminals.
"For every piece of information relayed to authorities that yields positive results, the informant is entitled to a cash reward," said Lacadin, adding that the scheme has been proven effective especially in combating lawless elements. He said tipsters will receive monetary rewards "depending how valuable the information is."
This scheme is a 24/7 feedback mechanism that calls for the active involvement of communities, media and local government units in Central Luzon.
The ride against crime motorcade, Lacadin said, constitutes "a sort of show of force" by various motorcycle clubs, which the police consider as effective "force multipliers" in maintaining public safety.
"We value the potential of the riders in our anti-crime strategy, this is a big help for us," Lacadin pointed out, as he expressed thanks to participants and sponsors of the event.
"As we ride for a cause, I enjoin everyone to actively participate in our campaign against all forms of criminality," he added.
After a brief orientation on riders’ safety, Lacadin and the riders hit the road heading to Olongapo City where they held a "boodle fight" at a resort there.
