STA. ANA -- As far as the mayor here is concerned, Third District Representative Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales will be unopposed in his re-election bid in 2010.
Mayor Rommel Concepcion made his "fearlessly forecast" in his speech before some 1,000 residents here on Sunday.

He said impact projects that Gonzales has implemented in different towns of the third district "are lingering manifestations of his competence in seeing things done."
"Aside from the fact that there are no strong candidates, the congressman's performance would be something that any upstart rival may have to contend with," Concepcion said.
He said all fourteen barangay chiefs here are all out in supporting Gonzales in the 2010 race for third district representative.
Gonzales, for his part, said he will run for another term in 2010 but leaves the public to decide on his political career.
"It has always been the public who would decide. If they still want me to serve them I will not hesitate to do so in another term. But 2010 is not our priority now since there are still projects that we need to accomplish," he said. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
