Group holds public governance forum

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Institute of Solidarity in Asia (ISA) held a two-day public governance forum at Hotel Dusit Thani Manila.

The said forum aimed to celebrate the institute’s 10th year anniversary, confer new associates, and launch this year’s performance commitments of six National Government institutions in the governance pathway.

The forum, themed “Global Best Practices for Local Breakthroughs and Transformations” was a showcase of balanced scorecard Hall of Famers, which includes this city led by Mayor Oscar Rodriguez.

The forum also included the formal launching of a new book by ISA Founding Chairman Dr. Jesus Estanislao titled “Guideposts for Governance.”

In two days last March 25 and 26, Public Governance System (PGS) partners and associates which included Dipolog City, Sta. Fe City, Talisay City, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Philippine Navy and the nursing profession underwent their “revalida” after a bootcamp held in this city last month.

The forum included a case presentation from ISA’s very first Associate Hall of Famer and CLTV-36 vice president Sonia Soto, which dealt on “Involving Stakeholders in Strategy Formulation and Execution.”

Soto’s case presentation was preceded by Fumiko Tamura, Leader and Program Manager of Strategy Map & Balanced Scorecard, Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim in Japan, dubbed “Aligning the Organization to Strategy.”

The turnover of roadmaps and scorecards by six non-governmental associations to stakeholders was led by Ambassador Cesar Bautista, co-chair of the National Competitiveness Council.

Among the new associates conferred by ISA were City of San Fernando City Administrator Ferdinand Caylao and City Planning chief Fernando Limbitco. (Jovi T. De Leon)
