Gonzales said he has started the pilot program of distributing tri-wheelers, more commonly known as "padyak", to indigents as means of livelihood.
He said each tri-wheeler would cost some P10,000 to assemble complete with seats and plastic canopy.
"With these tri-wheelers our indigents can rely on their own to make a living.
We try to give them a means of livelihood that demands little on the part of the beneficiary," Gonzales said as he turns over the first two tri-wheelers to Marciana Santos and Jose Dela Cruz, both residents of this town.
With a little diligence, the two beneficiaries can earn as much as a minimum of P150 a day, according to Gonzales.
Gonzales also pledged the release of almost P100,000 to different small infrastructure projects of local organizations here.
The said money will be used for the repair of the San Juan Chapel in Baragay San Juan and development projects of the Jesus, Mary and Joseph Community here. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
