“We decided to offer bills service six years ago due to the clamor from our clients,” recalls Ibazeta. Those who regularly use our service suggested we accept bills payment so they can do numerous transactions in just one place.
As a marketing tool, the bills service also gets more clients into the branches who are then introduced to the core services of courier and remittance.
At present, LBC accepts payments in behalf of over 20 business enterprises. The company is in continuous negotiations to add more to its list. It is also focusing its attention on untapped markets.
“We already deal with some government institutions like the Department of Foreign Affairs, Professional Regulation Commission and National Statistics Office,” adds Ibazeta. We tailor fit our service to their needs and to those who conduct business with them.
At present the Bills Xpress Payment Service is only a small slice of LBC’s business. However, Ibazeta feels there is still a lot more room for growth.
“We offer great value to both the merchants and the public,” he explains. Suddenly a business gets almost 800 collection sites nationwide. The public, in turn, gets a faster and more accessible way to pay their bills 7 days of the week.
