STO. TOMAS -- The Municipal Government here on Friday thanked a Filipino Chinese businessman for donating some 1,000 bags of relief goods to flood affected families in nine barangay here.
Mayor Joselito Naguit, in an interview with Sun.Star Pampanga, lauded the "generosity" and "humanitarian efforts" of Alexander Kehyeng and his family who donated a truckload of relief goods consisting of rice, can goods and noodles.

Naguit said the Kehyeng family is the “epitomy of what a true businessman,” saying that it’s deep social responsibility is most admirable and should be given due recognition.
He said it was through Vice Mayor Gloria Ronquillo and her husband, Romy Ronquillo that the Kehyeng family decided to help the people of this town.
Mr. Kehyeng, in an interview, said that aside from Sto. Tomas, their family business will also assist the flood victims of Cainta and other parts of Metro Manila.
Meanwhile the estimated damage cause by typhoon "Ondoy" in this town amounted to P2 million in infrastructure and P1 million in agriculture.
Some 5,905 families in barangays Sto. Rosario, Sto. Niño Sapa, San Vicente, San Matias, Moras dela paz, Poblacion, and San Bartolome have been affected.
In the height of Ondoy, flood waters rose from three to seven feet.
Naguit also thanked other donors like Quota International, Rotary Club and CLTV 36 for donating 1,500 bags of relief goods; ABS-CBN for giving 200 packs; Senator Lito lapid and Philippine Tourism Authority general manager Mark Mapid - 290 bags; President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and DSWD - 1,200 bags; Porac Quarry Association with 500 relief packs; and Provincial Government with 15 cavans of rice and 10 boxes of canned goods.
