P1M awaits 'Premyo sa Resibo' grand winner

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- In its effort to improve tax collection here, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) announced that a P1 million grand prize awaits the lucky winner of its Premyo sa Resibo (PSR) program.

BIR regional director Romulo Aguila Jr. said the PSR is a tax campaign scheme, which encourages the public to ask for receipts for goods and services purchased and help the government collect the correct taxes from professionals, commercial establishments and private businesses.

The PSR is a texting promo open to Smart, Talk N Text, Globe, Touch Mobile and Sun Cellular Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers nationwide.

"The program is aimed that instilling into the minds of the consuming public the importance of asking for receipts. Receipts help the BIR monitor the real earnings of establishments and it would make establishments compliant of the aim to make their transactions transparent," Aguila told Sun.Star Pampanga.

Aguila said that weekly draws are still held every Monday at the BIR central office as well as the giving away of PSR Instant prizes of P5,000, myPhone cell phones and P30 load continues.

The schedule of Monthly Draws for this year are as follows: January 30, February 28, March 28, April 25, May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29, September 26, October 31, November 28, and December 26.

Aguila said joining is easy by texting the details of the receipt: PSR (space) TIN of OR (space) OR Number (space) OR Amount, and send to 9777 for single entry and to 9778 for multiple entry, at P2.50 per entry.

For multiple entries, the participant is entitled to one entry for every P100 reflected in their OR and amount will be rounded out to the next hundred for fair play (For example P230 O.R amount – entitles a participant to 3 entries). Winners will get a congratulatory text from 9778 and a confirmation call from PhilWeb.
