CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Provincial Board (PB) formally accepted Olga Frances David-Dizon, daughter of the late second district Board Member Edna David, as the latter's replacement during Monday's regular session.
Dizon formally attended her first session here after being welcomed by the majority of board members through the motion of first district Board Member Crisostomo Garbo.
David-Dizon assumed office after being sworn in by Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and second district Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
She took over her mother's post five months after her death. The late Edna David had lived an eventful life as a public servant for many years.
She was board member from 1995 to 2004 and successfully made a comeback in 2007 and 2010, and served as acting governor in 1999. David had received awards for her programs in health, education, and poverty reduction.
Dizon, in her first privileged speech here, thanked the people who have shared their time and effort in the previous projects of her mother.
"I do not strive to be the best board member but I will strive to be a good one. Replacing my mother is not an easy task. However, as her daughter I will strive to the best of my ability to meet expectations of the people," Dizon said.
